This New Zealand native variety is a close relative to the reishi mushroom which grows in warmer climates. Ganoderma mushrooms have been used in Chinese medicine for thousands of years. This is another mushroom variety which is too leathery in texture to eat fresh, so is generally supplied in powder form.
