Pekepeke-kiore (Coral tooth)

This mushroom is a New Zealand native and a close cousin to the famous Lion’s Mane species. It is quite a spectacular mushroom that has a flavour commonly described as being similar to crab or crayfish. While these mushrooms are delicious to eat, they are highly prized for their apparent action on the human nervous system. They appear to contain broadly neuro-regenerative properties that can help repair the nervous system.
